Three Greeks an Italian & Joee walk into a bar. This is how my day pretty much was at Pegasus Bar & Grill on Dundas St.West in Toronto Ont. Tony Tsagouris owner of this local bar was hosting a car show, and cars of old and new attended. Camaro’s, Corvettes, Motor Bikes, and hard-core Chevys were all shined up and ready to view. Joee the D.J was also in attendance pumping out all kinds of beats.

Although it was a spectacle to see all these fancy cars on display, the real star of this day was the Greek traditions that Pegasus Bar & Grill were preparing. Homemade burgers from a recipe that only the Greek mom of this eatery knows, and even if you gain her respect, she will never give up the ingredients that go into these juicy Greek and flavourful burgers. I would have never thought that this place could do burgers, but they nailed it. I always say, if I can enjoy a burger with no condiments, then it’s a worthy burger.

Here’s the part where the Greeks & the Italians come together, out of nowhere an authentic Greek Chicken Souvlaki Dinner appears. It was a generous portion of tender seasoned moist chicken, light and fluffy rice, with giant potato wedges & fresh crisp iceberg lettuce dressed with the taste of Greek. The tzatziki sauce was authentic & homemade as well, thick greek yogurt with slivers of cucumber & a hint of mint, just enough to enjoy it with everything on my plate. Pegasus Bar & Grill has everything your taste buds desire. All day breakfast, Awesome burgers, and authentic Greek cuisine.

It was a great day listening to car jocks talk shop about their precious muscle cars, seeing the excitement of the kids when the cars pulled in, and seeing the community come out. Lots of Hello’s, plenty of great food, and new and old friends meeting. I guess the Italians and the Greeks are a lot alike, it all starts in the kitchen and then around the table with great cuisine. It’s where friends become family, and that’s what I saw today at Pegasus Bar & Grill.

Thank you Tony, Nick, & The Tough Greek Mom that keeps you boys in place. It was a pleasure meeting all of you.
