Meat Ventures- Food Frenzy 2015

I had a great weekend. I have been tracking the Meat Ventures Food Truck for a little bit. Now Meat Ventures is from my part of the hood Hamilton Ont. but our schedules have never been on point. So when I heard he was going to be at the Food Frenzy 2015 in Whitby Ont. I took a drive. Meat Ventures has really changed my outlook on regular BACON. I ordered a Tocino slider, this is a thinly sliced pork shoulder house cured also known as Filipino Bacon it’s popular in the Philippines. I’m just going to tell you right now. I am never going back to regular bacon again. This Filipino bacon is so tender, so flavorful, so Da-Lish! I can eat it all day long. So this Tocino comes equipped with green mango, jicama,red onion slaw,and garlic lime cream sauce on soft pandesal slider bun. For those of you who do not know what this bun is, it’s known as salt bread it’s made of flour,eggs,yeast,sugar,and salt. This bun is also very popular in the Philippines see where I’m going with all of this. Meat Ventures has knocked me off my butcher block and that’s hard to do. Things got even better when I ordered the Candied Bacon Creme Brûlée, cherry bacon jam, vanilla custard, topped with a hearty slice of candied bacon. This dessert had the right balance of sweet and salty. It was delectable. Anything with the word Meat in it always grabs my attention. I’m glad to know that Meat Ventures is right in my very own back yard and I could visit them anytime. I will definitely be seeing you again in the Hammer ( that’s slang for Hamilton everyone ) this Carnivore was very pleased with her Meat Venture experience.
