Alright enough of old man winter. Seriously winter can get a bit overwhelming for some of us. I went for brunch today at the Rose Garden in Burlington Ont. Another oldie but a goodie, this resturant has some history attached to it, but it’s another great landmark for Burlington. The first time I checked out the Rose Garden I was caught off guard and just going in for lunch with no review. I of course am always on duty, I knew that I would be back to do my write up. I am always a sucker for a great Eggs Benedict and if done right it can be scrumptious. My perfectly toasted english muffin just the right pillow for my peameal bacon, succulent poached eggs with just the right amount of runny yolk, and that hollandaise sauce Oh My!. This dish was like a perfect science experiment, putting all the elements together for my tastebuds to enjoy. Now getting back to winter, if you ever want to feel like you are in the Carribean try the Rose Gardens coconut cream pie, this was the highlight of my visit. This pie with just one bite, will bring you to a beach with a piña colada in hand. The crust light and fluffy, and the filling thick, creamy and full of coconut, it was so delectable I wanted six more just to take home as back ups for my sweet tooth. The owner of this little gem has all the dishes on her menu down packed to an art. A Rose by any other name would be…… The Rose Garden.
