“What you see before you, my friend, is the result of a lifetime of chocolate.” ( Katharine Hepburn) Candies of Merritt has done just this, with generations of Chocolatiers passed down with new techniques of learning with old school teachings. This candy store offers the sweet smell of chocolates of all flavours & fillings and they cater to no sugar added chocolates as well. Christmas Cut-rock, Fudges of traditional flavours, and December Christmas flavours of CandyCane, Christmas Crunch, Chocolate Candy Cane Crunch, and Egg Nog. Now I know Egg Nog is not for everyone but it was delicious so silky and smooth, I could have eaten the whole block but my conscious made me stop. They have a large assortment of collectibles and giftware items as well, Fruit Cake from New Orleans, and of course hot sauces from Melinda’s. Any store that carries products with my name on them is right up there in my books. Bruce the store owner gave me a great recipe for my Melinda’s Fire Roasted slow-roasted habanero and garlic pepper sauce. (We tried it as soon as we got home it was bang on!) Now what really brought me into this whirlwind of candy goodness, were these Candy Cane bowls this company produces. It’s an actual bowl made of Candy Cane twisted into an edible bowl filled with delectable chocolates. All hand made the old school way. I fell in love with them, I had to give them out as my corporate gifts this year for Christmas. Now that’s a company that thinks outside the box, (and I love unusual things) what a very different gift to give, as well as a great conversational piece. A great candy store to visit with that old school charm.

Thank you Alyson for answering all my questions, your product knowledge is great, Alyson is eight years old and a future Chocolatier of Candies of Merritt.
