When the Maple Syrup Festival comes around, It always brings me back to childhood. Taking school trips to Bronte Creek. So naturally I took little ” C” (my son) and my father. Its easy for us today to purchase maple syrup products from the store, but back in a time where things took days to come to life it was a process. Puncture the tree, wait for sap, boil it in copper pots, it was a process that took what we would say today “its taking forever”. When that finished sugary golden, sap is poured on to your pancakes it was well worth the wait. It really makes you think that back in the 1900’s to today how much we have evolved. Before purchasing something in the grocery store, take the time to understand were or how much time it would have took to make something back in the pioneer days. Mother nature provides us with everything we need to survive. I think its important to take trips like this to ground us once in awhile.
