When people come up to me and ask advice on where to dine, I always need to be prepared. I have found the best Italian restaurant in Burlington Ontario. Chef Salvatore has a European and Canadian degree in Italian cuisine. So when Salvatore’s decided to come to Burlington Ont. he did us a favor. This Chef knows Italian cuisine, with a history of preparing meals for such people as the late Pope John Paul II, Movie stars, Hockey legends and I had the honour of Chef Salvatore prepare a meal for me. The classy & warm atmosphere of this restaurant also has a beautiful view of the lakeshore and is sure to please anyone looking for an elegant evening out. The staff is also very knowledgeable with not only the menu but the large array of wines Salvatore’s has to accompany your meal. My first course Rucola Con Pere was delightful, a fresh bed of baby rucola, served with cinnamon infused Florette pears, heirloom tomatoes, California walnuts, tomato compote and a warm panko crusted goat cheese galette, tossed together with homemade balsamic drizzle. This antipasti was simply exquisite. The warm galette of goat cheese, with my cinnamon Florette pear, baby rucola, and so many other flavors surrounding this dish, had my palate dancing with aromatic music in my mouth. I have always loved Vitello Al Limone, veal scaloppine pan sautéed with lemons and capers in a white wine sauce. My veal was so tender, I could cut it with my fork, and it just melted in my mouth. My white wine sauce was rich and decadent with every bite becoming more and more flavorful. Salvatore’s has taken Italian cuisine and elevated it. This husband and wife team have come to Burlington with a mission… to create beautiful Italian cuisine.
