This weekend was a tough one, I had some wisdom teeth pulled out. How exciting is visiting the dentist. As I received my instructions with a mouth full of stitches, to nourish myself on soft foods. I took advantage of heading out to get some Paletas. A Latin American fruit ice pop. Now you may say Popsicle, I say Paleta! I had met this vendor a while back who made these frozen treats on a stick. Rudy’s is the name of the company, a little company packed full of flavour. Rudy’s makes these Latin American Paleta’s very different. This company uses local and dairy free ingredients, no artificial flavours or colouring, and they also use different herbs & spices. Rudy’s also uses organic cane sugar and agave nectar to add a bit of sweetness, but here’s where the Paletas get interesting. The flavours which consist of Citrus Basil, Strawberry Vanilla, Rasberry Basil, Grapefruit Fennel, Chocolate and Vanilla Chunk just to name a few. I tried the Cirtus Basil I love anything citrus, and this Paleta delivered! packed full of Citrus & Basil ( Hey I’m Italian! I Love Basil) this wild and very different way of putting two very distinctive ingredients together was very refreshing. Rudy’s flavours are based on seasonal ingredients, so keep checking for new combinations. I will say this… This Paletta approves.
