Food4Kids Open House

I had attended an open house,for an organization I got involved with this year. Food4Kids provides back pack lunches for children who are on a fixed income. I must tell you,it’s hard enough for me to watch a child go hungry in another country,but to watch it happen in our own back yards, it just hits home. The staff at Food4Kids work so hard to get donations,to help our kids have a meal to eat. Can you imagine going all day, with not a thing to eat,and on top of it having to learn something as well. This is what Nicola Jones from CHCH pointed out to everyone who attended. I have a small child,and it would crush me to watch him,not have anything to eat. Heavenly Gourmet catered this event,it was quite impressive. For those of you who know me, I love it when everything is self explanatory. Scrumptious Sandwiches which consisted of Heavenly Club, Applewood Smoked Turkey,Parisian Ham & Cheese,Toscana Deliziosa,Tuna Melt,Cece de Mediterraneo, Smokey Bacon & Havarti, & Curried Chicken & Apple all dressed with numbers and a menu ticket on the table so you knew what sandwich you were going to enjoy, Nice Job. FroYo Express showed up as well, frozen yogurt to go. With so much to eat,you can’t dismiss the reason we were there. The next time your out in the grocery store pick up an extra box of granola bars,or fruit cups and bring it by the office of Food4Kids the staff will thank you,I thank you,and most importantly the KIDS will thank you.
