Up

With all the uproar over Food Trucks the last couple of weeks. I found it only fitting to embrace another spring day by supporting some local Food Trucks, at Food Truck Alley in Hamilton Ont. If you drive along Aberdeen and Longwood you can’t help but notice, the entourage of Food Trucks waiting for people like me to embrace their latest creations. I walked up and down the alley and checked out all the menus, some I knew, some I got to know, and some I couldn’t wait to get my taste buds around.

The Frankie Fettuccine Food Truck Co.

I met Frank & Anthony at another venue I attended a while back, hey for those of you who know me I tell it like it is. These guys are easy on the eyes, and make you feel like your in an Italian home. With there boisterous attitudes, your bound to feel like trying everything on there menu. I went on a mission for there Arancini ( I love my Arancini’s ) a crispy Mozzarella stuffed fried rice ball, caressed in a marinara sauce. I couldn’t wait to try one, and they were ambrosial. If you see Frankie Fettuccine around town, flag him down and get your Italian on. Cucina Deliziosa Grazie e Ben Fatto!

Tony’s Corner StrEATery

The Greek on the Street! This is how I would describe this truck. What comes to mind GYRO! So that’s what I ordered a chicken Gyro, loaded with all the Greek fixings. This popular Greek street food was loaded with onions, tomatoes, lettuce, tzatziki sauce, hell I even put on hot sauce,
and of course tender grilled chicken, served in a warm pita. This sandwhich was large, filling, bang for your buck, and scrumptious. OPA BABY!

Jonny Blonde

I was intrigued by this Food Truck, I have seen him around, but never had the opportunity to give him a try. As I checked out Jonny Blondes menu, I knew I was going to like the Blonde Chef from Spain. This truck supports local ingredients, that’s great to see businesses supporting each other. Considering I have Spanish students staying with me, I gave the Spanish Tortilla a try. This dish is a traditional Spanish pie, which consists of potato, egg, and onion. Jonny served this delectable dish with chorizo, roasted red peppers, and roasted tomatoes, with Jonnys famous Flatbread a light & fluffy pillow of dough. Jonny Blonde makes all his flatbread & his creations from scratch and is meticulous with everything that goes out of his window. All I can say is this savoury pie made me do my happy dance. I have to tell you, I brought a Spanish Tortilla home to my Spanish student and he loved it said it tasted like being home. Fabuloso!

I headed to Food Truck Alley, but went on a International trip today. I want everyone to know these trucks work hard, to come up with different menu ideas for us to enjoy. Some people love the Food Trucks, Some People hate the Food Trucks. I Support the Food Trucks. Thank you to everyone who made me feel welcome today. I hope to see you around town soon, and keep up the great job on bringing great cuisine to the streets.
