The Festival of Friends has once again come to Ancaster Ont. I remember going to this festival as a child when it was held over at Gage Park in Hamilton Ont. So it was nice to see it still going strong. Friend is a very important word to me, I have tons of friends, but only a few chosen loyal friends, who can say they really know me. This festival was filled with plenty of all day fun, vendors of all kinds, lots of reptiles, a midway with games and rides, lots of things for the kids to do, and of course the music. As most of you know, I attended this event, to see what new and exciting things to eat were around me. I was not disappointed, it was a Friendship Feeding Frenzy with so much to choose from. Pulled pork on sugar donuts, cool tropical drinks served in pineapples and coconuts, but one food truck enticed me. It was very hypnotic with its electric blue bus and phoenix logo.

Los Fenix California Cuisine was serving up some friendly fusion dishes. I had ordered a Los Fenix burrito, and that’s what I’m calling this monster of a burrito. Large tender seasoned chunks of chicken breast, lettuce, black beans, seasoned rice, with a sweet and tangy salsa sauce all wrapped up so tightly in a soft tortilla. This Los Fenix burrito was hearty and full of healthy ingredients, they serve this dish with homemade lightly seasoned tortilla chips. I really enjoy trying new cuisines, and Chef Paul Baird is keeping his Napa Valley roots alive, by feeding Hamilton Ont. such creative dishes. If you see the blue Los Fenix bus around town, make sure you give it a try.

I had a fantastic time at The Festival of Friends this year, just walking around seeing new things, hearing all kinds of different music, & trying out some new cuisines. I think most of all, I really enjoyed the day because I was with some wonderful friends, and that’s what the day is all about.
