Easterbrooks

Burlington Ontario

Today I hung out at another Burlington landmark. My 50’s food frenzy continues. I checked out the original Easterbrooks home of the foot long hot dog. This long trailer of hot dog heaven, is again lived up to it’s name. I knew I had to go easy so I ordered a regular hot dog, while my colleague ordered a veggie dog, both came with fries. As I glanced around I noticed that their was only three booths, and a bar with stools to sit on. If you want a booth in this place you must move quick! We took a seat at the bar and waited for our number to come up, to receive our foot long goodness. Upon waiting I noticed and elderly couple come in very well dressed. This couple gazed around to see if a booth was available, and of course there were none. The elderly gentleman tried to get up on a stool but had much difficultly. I then noticed a young couple get up and offer there booth to this elderly couple. As I was still enjoying my dog and fries, the older women came up to us and said, that was so nice of them to give us there booth, my husband and  I  have just come from the hospital and my husband has just received a clean bill of health, he has had cancer for some time and has been craving an Easterbrooks Hot Dog. We came to celebrate, we used to come here as young adults while we were dating. I must tell you I was so touched by the love these two people showed, that it made my meal taste so much better.

TWO THINGS

1. Believe in the kindness of people its sometimes hard to see but its out there.

2. You don’t always need to be fancy,to enjoy a good meal, sometimes comfort food overseas the expensive.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!
